Any shops hiring a designer? 👀
I’m interviewing for an in-house PR role (mostly content/media relations) at a digital company. I’ve had 3 interviews so far and completed one extensive writing assessment (800-word article). I’m pretty sure I have the job, and had a great interview with VP of Corp. Comms. today. She mentioned she had no hesitations about my qualifications. But the HR mgr said they now want me to do a 2nd assessment “just to dot their i’s” and they want a 750-word release by Monday. Is this normal?
I might be moving into a Tech Leader sort of role next year. I currently teach math and have probably an intermediate level of confidence with technology. Besides getting my Google level 1 and 2 certifications, what general ideas do you have to help me improve my abilities? I might be working with several types of devices, solving printer and projector issues, and possibly dealing with sound and audio equipment

Do you think it is easier to move up faster from associate to manager lvl as an internal consultant or traditional external consulting? My buddy has moved to mgr insanely fast with his internal role.
I'm curious, has anyone taken the same or similar pay to exit consulting? Especially for a role where you can learn more and do something more interesting?
Jumped from biglaw pship to join ~$2B company <12 mo ago. Pitch was to come grow into GC role and have strategic seat at table. Quickly learned only opinion that matters is micromanaging CEO/controlling SH and rest of exec team kowtows to his desires as (even when wrong) plus general hostility for back office functions. Has killed long-term appeal of this gig. Trying to figure out next steps (stay a while, jump to another in-house gig, go back to private practice) and any advice appreciated.
My colleagues and I who have the exact same position and title found out today that some of us are non exempt employees and others are exempt. Salary vs hourly/OT. Anyone been in a similar situation and know why?
What does EY typically look for (in terms of length of experience) while hiring SC’s with cyber experience in other big 4’s, and a masters in infosec?

We are thinking of pulling our 8 month old out of daycare due to delta (and no vaccine mandate) and having a nanny until she gets the vaccine. Our cleaning lady expressed interest (totally trust her) and could do it two days a week and she may have another friend do the other three days. Is this a bad idea? I trust the caregivers, just in terms of logistics. Also, there will likely be a language barrier. We are also thinking of doing a nanny share but it’s hard to find another family.

Hey Fishes! Does MBA give an upper edge (or is essential) in terms of better job opportunities and salary if one wants to create a career in B2B Marketing? Given already I am working in that domain without an MBA. Do hiring companies weigh on the MBA degree?
I anticipate a good raise soon after a year of busting my ass. Also pregnant and quickly approaching 2nd tri. Tell them before (showing loyalty?) or after raise confirmation (trust no one?)? Help?

Anyone out there have an agency partner that they believe does great work? Struggling with current partner and looking for outside perspective.
Recently, we gave all media work to existing creative partner so the issue may be a misalignment in strengths and our needs.
As someone who has sleeve tattoo on my right arm completely done, I’m curious to hear thoughts from other women who work in consulting and have (clearly visible) tattoos and if there’s any stigma/discomfort around it? And also from other ladies’ two cent on visible tattoo in workspace?
I’ve been wfh for the past few months and about to go to client sites, should I cover it up (with detachable sleeves/long sleeves tshirt)?
When the cab driver wakes you up half way into an hour long drive to the airport that started at 5:30 AM to ask if I'm doing alright. I was doing fine when I was sleeping you ass hole. 😡
Partners who are also moms, do you think that your career had any negative impact on your children during their developmental years (ie, their attachment styles)?
CIPP worth it?
A few weeks ago a friend of mine went to Paris for a work trip, tested positive for covid with no symptoms, and was "stranded" there for two weeks while her company paid her hotel and per diem. Did no work in the meantime. No symptoms. Just ran around Paris. For two weeks.
...I low key wish I had her covid.
Small boutique firm /w 3 male partners. 2 partners are absolutely phenomenal mentors who encourage raising issues. As I'm in line for partnership in the next few years, I've been specifically asked to speak up. The 3rd partner is barely around and never bothers to learn staff/ new associate names. Recently he's made unintentionally demeaning comments that are directed at female associates. I want to bring it up as I don't want to stand by but don't know how or not to ruin my future at the firm.
Find a creative who can offer their time to give you some advice or discuss ideas.
Or be the creative who offers.
Anyone else in M&A and can’t stand it? I find it boring, and do not find the adrenaline rush of a deal exciting, nor do I enjoy its unpredictable nature. Okay lots of money involved, I like my team, they respect my time off, and Tax is challenging! But I’m struggling to find my long term legal field. I enjoy writing, but don’t necessarily want to do litigation or be in the courtroom (though not opposed to it but worried about lifestyle). Any thoughts/advice? Struggling pretty badly with this.
