The US romanticzes trauma and normalizes people who traumatize others. Its nothing to aspire to lol. Everything is stressful but dread is not stress its no different from your fire alarm going off, you wouldn't ignore that because its loud and hurts your ears but we train ourselves to think being tough means accepting way too much

This is true.
W normal work stress, I’m still on top of things, get my work done on time, invested in seeing work complete and done thoroughly, didn’t forget about scheduled meetings, got to work an hour early .
When it’s toxic stress, which I had only one year out of 27- I missed a couple mtgs, couldn’t focus, was not on top of my evals and didn’t do as thorough of a job, had headaches daily, committed during the work week an average of at least 4x, my RA and lupus FLARED to a ridiculous level, couldn’t sleep at night, took off more days than ever and didn’t not care, wished every morning of that I could stay home and sleep. Intermittent crying at home. I must have known on some level that I ‘could’ retire even though I wasn’t planning to nor was I ready.

Only one toxic year… that’s a win.
