I need a change so badly I’m on the verge of tears almost every day. I’ve invested so much preparing for this career. I know I have so much talent that’s not being utilized. I feel stifled and stuck. I don’t need the health insurance but I’m terrified of giving up financial security. Any suggestions in NH for a sp ed with a MS in ed tech integration and a CAGS in Ed leadership. I am driven by identifying systems and creative problem solving and also have a background in art & design.

The skills teaching requires are very much transferable in corporate America. I have a middle childhood education degree and taught 4th grade for a year before realizing they can’t pay me enough to put with all the bs. I got a couple IT certs, a basic entry level IT job for a couple months to build experience while looking for a solid Project Management job. Once I landed that, it’s just been up and up. Just highlight how your education background is such an import asset brings diverse points of view to an otherwise homogeneous team.

Additional Posts in Career Pivot

I'm trying to figure out how to pivot out of my current job. My department is in utter chaos, which has just become completely unmanageable. I'm looking for front-end web design work, and work from home. I am a strong designer and basically set up landing pages for large companies on a proprietary CMS in our company. If anyone knows of places I could apply? I'm not trying to reinvent myself as I do artwork on the side and would rather grow that business and get out of the chaos of fortune 500.

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. Understanding that the degreed person committed to school and finished, yet that doesn't diminish what the not degreed has committed to and accomplished in their careers. This has to stop!
