Most EMRs have a break the glass feature. That means if anyone looks at your Medical Record they can be easily identified. If it happens Sue the Fock out other them and the hospital.
If you don't have a Break the glass feature just look at your record it will let you know who accessed you MR. Sue the fock out of them.
This!! If your facility uses Epic, then they can track it and there should have only been certain people allowed to access your chart. If there is any chatter, then follow protocol and document. Then consider contacting an attorney.
It truly is a violation if they look into your health record. All healthcare systems have a compliance person or department that reviews the EHR to ensure that no one is inappropriately accessing patient records.
