It may not mean anything. When top execs in a publicly traded company sell stock that has to be publicly disclosed. A lot of those people get a lot of compensation in stock, so they typically have a schedule of selling the stock for cash. You could look it up and see if the Target people are doing anything different than their usual schedule. My guess is that they may not be, but clickbait sites will take ordinary public disclosures and try to make a story out of them.
You might be right. I’m no expert in the matter but I think with everything going on with Target nowadays the last thing leadership needs old want to do is cause any sort of optics that something is wrong. Even if it is normal to do so.
I wouldn’t feel a boost of confidence after learning that. There can be different reasons for selling off, but I’d keep my eyes open for other things going on still. Retail in general is having a hard time.
Yea it’s a terrible time in retail. I have no confidence at all with this leadership team and the fact they won’t hold is not great.
That doesn't look good, especially after they slashed their earning forecasts a couple weeks back. All the boycotts and DEI stuff from the past year plus the tariffs seems to be having a really big effect on Target. I'm hoping things turn around for you all and they're able to right the ship without resorting to layoffs.
I hope it all turns around also. It use to be a great company to work for back in the day. I hope they figure it out, while cashing out their millions.
At first look I get what you're saying but it could just be routine as well or execs diversifying their portfolio. Target has a huge customer base and I think it's overall a pretty stable company.
Well I can tell you it doesn’t feel pretty stable at the moment. It’s seems off and has seemed that way over the last few years.
I mean, that's a valid concern. However, it's hard to say for certain. If it were me, I would just update my résumé and hope for the best. Who knows why rich people do what they do 😆
Resume is up to date for sure. The rich really are strange. They do some really bizarre stuff and I guess I will never understand it.
