Had a glowing fantastic performance review last year. This year no review, just a meeting with managing partner and HR to tell me I am fired and to leave now. No bad performance. Is it just the money?
Started seeing some ✌🏻️ emails anyone know if promotion/VC calls happened this week. Seems it would line up. No layoffs just leaving for another job.
With the W&K layoffs ... 1. Recruiters are getting psyched. 2. Freelancers are even more unnerved. 3. Axe will fall on people phoning it in at other shops. What are your other predictions ? People leave ad game altogether?
Due to Covid & a new VP, everything is changing at my company & senior reps are being micromanaged like new hires. Seniors are quitting and being fired like nothing I’ve ever seen. Anyone else?
I wish i had become a Doctor instead of actuary . Better work life balance ? Can just chill and have job waiting for me whenever wherever even if fired
Can I get fired because of disability? Unable to do the commute anymore and its making my disability worse. I understand as a consultant we are supposed to go to diff cities. But could I be fired now?
Am I the only one weirded out by these mass spreadsheets of individuals who have been laid off? Is anyone really looking to these for hiring purposes?
Has anyone been fired here and applied elsewhere? If u still have good references will the firm you're applying to - do they find out you got fired?
How many weeks severance do u get if you're fired vs laid off? I've heard 1 week per year if you're laid off and no severance if you're fired... Am I right?
Coworker told me he frequently watches the naughty on his work laptop while on the road... can't you get fired for that shit???
Sebior associate just got stealth fired from a V10 (i.e., there's no business case to promote you in October out of the associate pool because of COVID). Will likely be given a formal recommendation to look elsewhere in September but it seems clear their mind is made up. Any advice? Is there any value in considering an employment lawyer re severance etc? Not sure whether to apply now for jobs ideally starting early next year or to wait and take some time off completely.
Any fish with experience moving to an internal, non-consulting role with their firm and have an opinion on making the move now? Would be promotion (which I am unlikely to get in my area of the org due to freezes) but very aware of the old adage “if it’s not billable, it’s killable.” No layoffs yet and no pressure for me to move out of consulting, but this may be an option to level up and maybe have a better exit in 18 months. Thoughts?
To all people getting laid off: always apply for unemployment benefits within 7 days of getting laid off. Even if you won’t need it, it’s good to have an option to stay afloat.
Why do we do it? I’ve been laid off from every advertising job I’ve ever had. I was one of the first people in my graduating class to get hired. I worked on TV before any of my peers...
I was laid off last month and have not been getting any interviews. Would like to know if anyone is hiring at the moment in Consulting? I have been working in software consulting for 5 years.
They laid off half the workforce and cut our bonus pool, but goddamn if they won't spend thousands on "networking events" no one enjoys going to
How many of you at smaller consulting companies went through a reduction in force / staff layoffs this year?
Welp. Laid off on a Wednesday. Going surfing for a week, then try to fail upward again. Any leads for a writer on the east coast?
Asking for advice: should I take a 3h flight to take 2x 45 min interviews face 2 face, or take them via Skype/Google? Will having them remotely put me at a disadvantage? If so, how significant is it?
For those who have leased cars before... would you do so again? Paid off my 2nd car but considering a luxury car as my next vehicle. Is leasing then swapping b4 it's old a good strategy?
SPG 100 with 140 nights this year already. Will keep travelling til year end - should I continue doubling down on SPG or beef up Marriott / Hilton?
What should I expect for an Experienced Audit Associate starting salary? LCOL area. B4 and Regional Firms. I believe most firms begin Associates out of college at around $53-$55K here.
What consulting firms have Talent Management generalist consulting positions? I know the Big 4 firms have generalist models but none of them are known for TM specifically imo.
Is it possible to get hired with 3-4 years consulting experience (without MBA) at the post-MBA role at MBB? If not, anyone have experience moving firms after b school?
I’m normally very happy with my single life but I’m so sick right now wish I had someone come take care of me 😭
Has anyone else from big 4 been pulled onto the audit side for their busy season? Seems kinda messed up, and I haven’t heard of this ever happening at any other big 4. I didn’t sign up to audit....
Spoiler Alert - You don't learn anything getting an MBA. Anything you want to learn can be had via Google or $1.50 in late fees from your local library. It's all about the network/connections...
Excel in current role, overhauled resume, extensively utilized networking and advice from 🐠. Still struggling to generate initial interest for entry associate role. What am I missing? What can I do?
Is it okay to buy but not live at your home for a while? I bought a place, but enjoying living at home with fam during Covid...
Just moved 50% of my 401k (about 110k) into low risk bond funds. Please tell me this bubble is likely to pop in the next several months... 🤷♀️
Best SPG or Marriott vacation hotels in Rome and Paris? I have Platinum status, so somewhere that recognizes that would be great. Will be traveling with spouse and teenager. Thanks!
Has anyone worked at both Havas Health and FCB Health? Did you feel one was more pleasant to work at? Any pros and cons? Want to compare the two
What do you think about the idea of workin for the current firm in the different country? Immigrant here and entire family lives in asia, but my firm (in canada) doesn't have any clear view when to return to the office.. I'm working from home entire time anyways.. so I am thinking I can set up exactly same home office in Asia, and working and being active as north America time zone. We use laptop phone which I can use in any other country with my current work phone number. Is it too risky?Idea?
Is Medicare-for-All like a 4-letter word in this industry? Surely, existing health plans would find a way to make a profit, but nobody seems to be talking about it.
Despite everything, at least your project isn’t so bad you’re getting sued over it! https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/04/23/hertz_accenture_lawsuit/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app
