I’ve been laid off and, as I embark on my job search, I’d like to keep my marketing skills sharp. Any recommendations on must read books, or resources?

Started working a week after graduating last May. Was on track to be one of the top staff performers and then COVID hit. Since working from home I am one of the lowest performers. Anxiety and stress are crippling my ability to succeed. I have social anxiety which makes wfh communication extremely difficult.

I was laid off from Deloitte in the 18th. I have an interview with Amazon for a Senior Program Managers Non Technical position with Amazon hiring manager on Monday. Any advice would be much appreciated. I would love to get into Amazon. I hear their interview process is brutal.

A couple of months ago I was hired by Amazon as an Automation Engineer, but got fired after a week due to a positive drug test during the medical visit that is done during the first days.
Any thoughts?

Anyone have a sense of why Deloitte got hit so hard by layoffs? I’ve heard four potential reasons:
1. Client mix / type of work
2. Leverage
3. Over hired in anticipation of growth
4. Partners didn’t want to take a haircut

Just curious! From an external perspective, seems like they cut way more than the other firms.

Why does PwC need layoffs again if the business is doing well?

Anyone here familiar with the hiring process of KPMG consulting in Van? Had a partner interview on Nov 21, thought the feedback was positive but haven't heard back yet (no rejection/offer). Is it something normal or the interview just didn't go as well as I thought?

It's an experienced hire for an SC role. I saw the posting is still open atm, and my guess is that the recruiting team is comparing candidates since competition is higher due to recent layoffs.

Meeting with just HR tomorrow, likely to get fired. I thought there would be a partner involved but guess not? Performance issues.

Projects are sized with an aggressive timeline. However clients will take their time to respond, meet since they know they won’t get fired easily for not prioritizing the project (as they have the actual day job to focus on). How does Partner just blindly accept this fact and still want an aggressive timeline? On paper they’d say it’s client issue but still want it done ‘on time’, on budget.

What is the average time an employee gets before one gets fired after being put in the Performance Improvement Program (PIP)?

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

My company tasked me with finding a new applicant tracking system. Currently, I've counted about 100 different companies with very little information on their sites.
I need some real user recommendations. We do high volume recruiting for mostly manufacturing with 5 locations that average about 20-40 applications a week.

What are some signs that your GF has a controlling personality? GF made a remark to me that she’s looking for someone who jumps when she says jump, and that she wishes I wouldn’t “talk back” to her when I provide an opinion that is the opposite of hers. Recently found out our 10 month old golden retriever puppy has the Addison’s disease and wife and I are bummed! Not because of why us, but out of abundance of love for him. Anyone here experience this disease with their pets? We are getting his tests done and are told he’d be on a prescription drug all his life 😞

Hi, Not pregnant yet but a big time planner. When do you think would be the optimal time to tell my manager about a pregnancy? I’m currently way behind on my targets and my company is undergoing a restructuring. I’m of two minds about it. On one hand, a known pregnancy might “protect” me from being let go but on the other hand, telling them sooner could give them more time to figure out how to let me go ahead of mat leave. I realized he never talks about the past. So I decided to know about his past, has he been into hook-up culture (which if you're for, u do u but I dont appreciate it especially at my age)
