I really need help from everyone here: I am a tax senior, and I have offer from both EY and MNP. I was at Deloitte earlier and I am not sure which to pick. Same package/benefits. While EY is a great firm and the partners are amazing and all experiences of Big4 and it's resources, MNP has this charm of a Canadian firm and great culture. I don't know much but people say MNP is a great organization. The people I will work with are all amazing to speak during interview. What to do now?
I have an opportunity to work in Higher Ed. I’m an A2 in tax, Senior in Oct. Without the distraction of vacations etc. I have come to realize how much I do not like my job. I previously worked in Higher Ed and I loved it. I genuinely enjoy interacting w/students, improving their experiences, and helping them navigate life. The benefits are good, PTO is great, and of course WLB bc it’s 9-5. The only issue is it would be 5-8k pay cut. Thoughts?

Pros/cons/ first hand experience of planning a pregnancy during busy season versus planning one outside of busy season? It’s tempting to reap the benefits of being on maternity leave during busy season but nervous of the impact it may have on my career progression. Currently going into my S3 year and would be on track to be promoted to manager the following year (first Mgr busy season would be 2022). We are looking to start having kids in the next couple years. Thanks!!
I spent the last 3 months "growing up" & now I'm ready to go. 1st thing is for me to get my own place. I'd like to buy instead of rent because I don't want to pay someone else's mortgage.
I'm thinking of selling my car & cash out some of my 401k to buy a house. My thought is to put down 3.5% for a FHA loan then make a big payment towards the principal to reduce long-term interest.
Anything wrong with this thinking or anything else I should consider?
Hello Everyone - Looking for advice from Deloitte practitioners! I am a specialist senior at Deloitte, got back from maternity leave in April 2020. I had my offering leader schedule a call with me to notify that I have been rated a low performer because I had 46% utilization and mediocre firm contribution scatterplot. My project scatterplots have been consistently good 5,5(top right) over the last 3 years. Do they not consider these things before rating someone as low? Feeling very low!
Families with kids that are mentally disabled do you have financial planning advice? Is Medicaid and SSDI enough to cover their future expenses? I understand under Medicaid benefits there is funding for intermediate care facilities (ICF). Any advice or knowledge is appreciated!
Any fish have tips on how to get my foot in the door with healthcare consulting at Bain? Or any thoughts on how to connect with the firm on opportunities as an experienced hire?

Life / Career Advice: I applied to medical school since my MCAT score was set to expire, ended up getting into 1 program. I also have an opp to join a well funded/well established Healthtech Startup (6 figure salary w/ equity + benefits) as a BD professional. I enjoy the business side of things and am unsure if I would end up practicing Medicine (medicine is also a long arduous path). At the same time, having an MD holds a lot of clout/authority in HC. Any thoughts on what I should do?
McKinsey fishes: I’m now in final round of interviews. Realized I don’t know anything about the benefits package. What are the key things you like about benefits, e.g. the free health plans?
Hi, I am 7 months pregnant and currently looking for new projects. My manager is trying to place me on projects that will end around the time I am due with the baby and trying to steer me away from projects that are longer and I am really interested in doing. Per my manager that way company doesn’t have to deal with clients when I go on maternity leave. Is this normal and even allowed?
My company matches every volunteer hour an employee does at $25 an hour up to 15k. Let’s say I volunteer for 500 hours and they match $7,500. Would I be able to claim that $7,500 when it comes to taxes? Or does my company claim it? Just trying to understand tax benefits. Gonna volunteer regardless
Is 3months heads up enough time to inform the team/firm that I will utilizing my paternal leave?
I'm at EY and plan to use the entire 4months plus maybe another couple weeks of PTO
Should I invest 15% in 401K even if business only matches 9%? I’m 40 with very little retirement income.
Anyone know how to get an itemized receipt from Chase Travel? Booked my hotel for my travel this past week and just checked out, but I can’t find the itemized receipt that I’ll need to submit for reimbursement. Thanks!

I’ve been informed that I need to do in vitro if I have kids. I would like to so would like to begin the process now while I’m younger. While PwC covers in vitro, if I choose to get pregnant in a few years versus today and freeze my eggs would they still cover it?
Thoughts on Mindshare?
Trying to understand how best to proceed with getting in shape. I've realized my weight isn't the problem (I mean I could lose a few) but it's flabby & loose (sorry TMI).
Noticed my arms are just jiggling. Is weight training really the best way to approach this?
I've started Pilates recently and want to know if this will help as well?
And for folks who have "tightened up" with workouts - how long did it take ya? Thanks in advance!
Looking for ideas on how to handle the following: 10 attorney firm. Founding partner in his 80s and still comes in. Lately, he has become abusive to staff, angry, and making office miserable. 3 paralegals have complained about his fits.
Not sure how to change/approach this. I’m a junior partner who gets stuck with the fallout, hiring if people leave, and my life is now being made to be miserable too.
This person is not involved in the day-to-day anymore so when they come in, it's chaos.
Does anyone have any insights on Atton Institute in Dubai - Tiffany Tower JLT Dubai??? What's your experience working in Atton? Or are you a student for one of their courses?? Guess they are KHDA accredited...
I have been working in KPMG Global Services for the last 2 years based in an offshore team in India and have recently received an opportunity to pursue MS in Finance in USA.
As I'll be joining the course , I will be required to move to USA now and will be needing to quit my job in the firm.
So I was wondering whether I shall go ahead and ask our team in USA in case they can provide me an option to join in the USA practice once I graduate from the program ?
Shall I go ahead ?
Thoughts on the chances of breaking into strategy consulting at T2 firms (Strategy&, EY-Parthenon, Monitor Deloitte) with a background in risk consulting?
Would reaching Senior Consultant then taking a downgrade be possible or would further qualifications/experience be necessary?
Started with new employer and have to roll over my previous 401k. I’m being told that my prior 401k would roll into an IRA and not my employers 401k. Does this sound accurate?

Advice for a hiring manager (me)
I am hiring for a role. I posted it on LinkedIn and said pls reach out to me.
Now, I suddenly have too many people reaching out and it's difficult to talk to all of them ( some aren't right at all)
Conflicted cause I think it might be unfair to pick and choose who I talk to pre-application but on the other hand, I wanna find out about the candidate b4 and find the best person. So an ethical dilemma of fairness and saving time what to do?
Hello fishes. I'm a MBA graduate currently working as a digital marketing professional in a mid size consulting firm with 3 years of experience.
I am terribly underpaid in my current org at 5.5 LPA after a recent promotion and annual appraisal. Another mid size consulting firm offered me 7.5 LPA but I am asking them around 9 LPA.
Am I asking too much or shall I take the offer of 7.5 LPA
Happy Friday!!!! How many of you have started using these one-pagers I hear all the Lit teachers talking about? Do you get thoughtful, quality work from Ss?
