Very few of any SCs are making 200k. That's in the Senior Manager band in core consulting. Where do you get the idea that SCs are making over 200k?
Chief
top mba hires as SC in core make mostly around 170-180k. core is up or out model . very rarely they would even cross 180k sitting as SC. 200k is towards the top even for Snr Mgr. remember Deloitte is still a consulting & it makes profit only by billing to client . no way they can give hikes exponentially beyond 200 - 230k billing to a client for any designation except ppmd . there is a hard upper limit a consulting can pay & then its dead end
Eh senior manager band in core goes higher than that but again, most SCs are at most in the mid 100s; only target school MBAs start in the 150s-160s or perhaps super hot skill area hires. 120-140k would be very normal for an SC and it sounds like in the SSS range too.
We can't pay everyone as if they have an MBA from a target school - that wouldn't make sense.
You can always apply for a core role, or a role at a different firm, for more pay. As others have said, most SCs are not at the top of that band anyway. Many are at USDC as a stepping stone.
Yikes, don’t repeat that BS. Half of people in USDC had no idea what the diff was with core until they started here. No body thought it was a stepping stone. Levels can be stepping stones but no one from the outside thinks USDC is an easy path to core because people honestly don’t know what USDC is.
