Hi 🐠 ! If I’m 100% new to casing (have a business degree but have been in audit for a year), how long do you recommend practicing case interviews to be strong at it? Is 6-8 weeks sufficient? Would likely be applying for analyst/associate roles. My friends in consulting keep reassuring me that it’s a learned skill but after watching my first case interview ngl I’m pretty intimidated 😅

Are large firms disorganized? In a quest to quickly get work done, and to be thorough, it seems to me that large firms just throw bodies at the issue. No project management, no clear delineation of duties, no planning.

On Monday, after just five months in my role, I was laid off from my job at a tech company in the food delivery space. During the call with my manager and HR rep, I understood that I would be paid through the 15th. If I sign the severance agreement, I’ll receive an additional two weeks of pay. I took notes and asked questions for clarity, but yesterday I received a payment for about half my paycheck (i.e. not through 15th!). Tips for negotiating the severance package? Any chance for more cash?

When in the interview process is it appropriate to bring up flexibility? Don’t want to put myself out of the running, but don’t want to waste my time if they’re super rigid. Going in for R2 next week.

I had an HR screening phone call with a recruiter who told me that the hiring manager had reviewed my application prior to our call and she expected that I’d move into the 1-on-1 virtual interview with the hiring manager. Midsize private firm: Criminal, PI, and Family Law Depts. No body talks about their pay rates but rumor mill pins the highest paid dept is PI, with 2nd Criminal and coming in last Family Law. The Attorneys profit share salaries while paralegals and support staff are paid hourly. There are talks of year end bonuses for each dept but how and what those bonuses are based on Nobody knows for sure. It’s all so mysterious and subject to favoritism. Is this pay setup the norm where you live and work?

Hi Fishes, I was offered 35% as initial offer and subsequetly raised to 55% during one round of verbal negotitaion, though I asked them to raise it a bit but subsequently I accepted it (55%). Now before rolling out offer letter they called me & informed that business could approve 44% @ max, if I would confirm then they will roll it out. Pls suggest how to go about.

Got an offer from accenture Level 9 22 fix. Got another one from INFY with 26 fix.
Talked with Accenture to match the offer, they told already given highest for level 9. Is there any chance they will budge????
