One where I don’t go in early or work late or eat lunch at my desk and then go home and not think of work until tomorrow.

I hope you had a few of those days this week!

4 hours of work, 4 hours passing the time until I’m ready to leave. Perfect day and not too far off from how my Friday is looking.

How about just four hours of work and then go home? That sounds even better!

Mine would be working the full eight hours without a single interruption. No meetings, no distracting emails or Slack messages, no coworkers coming in "just to chat." If I could do that, I might actually stay on top of my work instead of perpetually feeling like I'm playing catch up.

like

That sounds great to me but I do need some interaction during the day or I get distracted. Best if it's the kind of interaction that moves my work along!

Working for 2 hours and getting my work done then taking off instead of available time calls for a bit to do others work and then twiddling my thumbs looking into a computer screen waiting for something that might pop up

Seriously, you should find a side gig or start something on your own that you can pick up and drop down as needed. Might as well get something for all that downtime.

I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!
