I don’t have an answer but just here to say you could also try posting this in the Biglaw group that might have more people who are familiar with the onboarding in Biglaw.
I’m in the same boat — my recruiter said the firm I’m going to is just known for being a little slow. Could also be due to lateral partner movement (the conflicts team will prioritize lateral partners over lateral associates)
This happened to me. After 2 weeks of hearing nothing, I called. They didn’t realize my start date was so soon and had prioritized others ahead of me. Conflicts cleared that week.
Delays happen. If there is a significant law firm acquisition going on at the same time, your background check is going to take a back seat. Just don't give notice until you are cleared.
