I'm in a heavily male-dominant group, and every time we lock in a big client, we go out for a celebration. Being a new hire, I feel really obliged to attend these, but I'm not the kind of person who enjoys big gatherings in general, and especially not happy hours/parties. I'm saving up for a house and really care about my job and having a deep-rooted connection with my team. How do I respectfully get out of these situations?

You wouldn't lose your job for not attending parties. You could say something like, "Thank you so much for inviting me to celebrate. I really appreciate the team's camaraderie, but I'm focusing on saving for a house right now and prefer quieter evenings. I'd love to catch up with everyone during work hours or in smaller settings." I'm sure they would understand that you still value your team relationships while being honest about your needs.

Hey guys
I am desperately looking to buy an 3bhk apartment in Bangalore for last 3+ years now. Anyone bought flat recently and are you liking the quality and atmosphere surrounding? Please refer. Our highest preferences are:
1. children & elderly friendly,
2. close to ORR (office commutable distance is the key thing for this. We both are working in Hebbal and Banaswadi)
3. Spacious apartment
Please suggest if you know a good apt.

Thanks in advance!

Please advise and suggest.

Thanks

In the past, lawyer wellness and lawyer discipline/character fitness for bar applicants have existed in silos. I’d like to finally form a bridge between lawyer disciple and lawyer wellness and focus on prevention. When we think of lawyer discipline, we automatically think of outrageous behavior like stealing money. Those are extreme. The common cases are too stressed out and forgetting deadlines or death of a loved one and not having time to call clients back. Cont’d
