Hi! I am a B4 tax staff (soon-to-be senior), and I’m seriously considering management consulting - I think it’s a better fit for my personality and hopefully pays better…so my questions are 1) are consulting firms hiring junior levels at all these days 2) what companies and positions would be my best shot? I think I’ll have a lot of networking to do, so any tips around that would be appreciated. I’m based in California (prefer SoCal over the Bay Area but overall flexible with location)
Anyone have experience interviewing with Grassi & Co.? I’m interviewing for an experienced tax staff position and am curious about the technicals they’ll ask...
I’m seeing a lot of posts on here today about people being miserable about the start of another busy season. If you’re located in the SWFL area (preferably Tampa/Bradenton/Sarasota) and want to work a more manageable busy season, our firm is hiring! We have a posting up for Tax Staff, but we’re also looking for Seniors. Wonderful culture, in growth mode, truthfully team-oriented with hands-on partners, manageable hours and flexible work arrangements, etc.
Currently small market tax Staff making $55k and expecting the 7.5% raise to Senior in October. Could make $70k plus a bonus at another opportunity in town. Would essentially be making 10-15k more this year and likely more money next year to. Other op is not an accounting role and has a path to grow. Thoughts?
Currently a tax staff 1. I got put in the real estate group and am really not enjoying it, and it has convinced me that I want out of tax and public. Should I look to exit to entry - cont. below
I’m working at EY as Tax staff (DSG) in Central region and will be a senior this Fall. I’m trying to relocate to West Coast. Any position available? I don’t mind being a staff for another year.
Tax Staff at midsized looking for exit opps into a business/finance role. I have my CPA and MS Tax. Would I be better off trying to get a job at B4 audit then industry or are there better options?
Anybody have any ideas of a way to exit out of tax into another field? I’ve only been a tax staff for a year and would want to go into something more consulting related - is that a reach?
what is tax staff 1 compensation in general? looking to possibly transfer into indirect tax. Currently in an Audit position in the NE.
I don’t care what your title or position is, take 5 minutes to learn how to use PowerPoint, keynote, google slides or whatever presentation tool you are using at a basic level. If a presentation specialist or graphic designer has already created the deck, respect their time, use common sense and follow the rules established.
And for the art directors that have to concept, comp, do deck design and then clean it up again and again, major respect as well.
Anyone ever been in a hiring process that dragged for months, only for the company to say they’re not immediately hiring, yet?
Anybody looking to give a referral for Manager and above? Mostly financial analytics, keep me posted
By the time you "earn your stripes" for a leadership position you're so bitter and jaded you lose sight of what made you a better leader than most in the first place 💥
Looking for a licensed rep in the Landrum, SC or Hendersonville,NC area. Salary plus commission position. Great starting position for a junior rep

My TC is $550K at an E6 role, but I think a paycut may be inevitable. No startups I've spoken to can match my TC, including paper RSU. I also spoke with Twitter and their max for staff is the high 500s. Can anyone even match my TC?

Anyone from KPMG willing to provide a referral? Hopefully their commercial side is hiring at the moment. Found a few roles I would like to apply for. Thanks!
Just got an offer from a growing private company for an FP&A analyst role. 2 YOE at Big 4 plus CPA. They offered 75K plus decent benefits. No 401K currently (told its in the works for 2021) or bonus. Its their final offer. It’s a MCOL. I like the people I’ve met but the only thing holding me back is I feel like I should be making at least 80K plus a bonus. Do y’all think the offer is reasonable? The recruiter said not many companies hire someone directly from an audit background for this role.
I have two years of internal audit experience in a 500 company and I am relocating to a financial analyst role within the company. However, I think I still need the public accounting experience in big4 to get a long-term competency. I want to apply big 4 staff auditor after I pass the rest two CPA exams. I know I can’t get the experienced auditor position since I don’t have public accounting experience. I had my master in accounting. Will I be qualified for the entry level auditor in big4?
I’ve been a search manager for 8 years. What kind of role can I take on at a place like Google etc ? I am trying to figure out what’s next for me. I’ve considered client side, a lot marketing director roles that I think could be a good fit but I feel lost. I am tired of no upward movement in my career.

Perspective. I’m retiring from the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive. I have a graduate degree pursuing a doctorate, LSSBB, ScrumMaster, SPHR, and PMI-ACP. I’ve been offered two positions that are great and on the human capital team. For someone in this situation where should I be looking as commensurate with my certifications and experience?
