If there isn’t significant pay increase, I’d keep the stable/predictable option. In the end, work/life balance is more valuable. Wouldn’t be worth taking a job to work more and have less of a personal life if the pay doesn’t substantiate that

Hospitality has more unpredictability but also clearer paths upward. The surprise for me was how much emotional labor both share, you just wear it differently.
Rising Star
The biggest surprise when switching is pace and emotional energy. Hospitality can feel more intense in the moment, especially at a front desk. Retail might be physical, but hotel roles can be nonstop guest issues. Growth can be faster, but stress can be too.
