It takes a lot of dedication but I have tried to stop procrastinating. It’s one thing if I do need a few minutes to myself and another where I get distracted by scrolling, emails, etc. I try to find 30-60 mins a day where I can focus on me, chores, movement, whatever it is that won’t pile up in the back of my mind and make it hard to focus.
AS can you share some tips? I struggle with this.
I don’t have kids and have no idea how people do it. I worked until 11 two days in a row this week and feel like I can barely take care of myself. Thankful for the weekends and grateful I can actually rest and recharge! And having a spouse with teacher schedule who love to cook. Lifesaver
I outsource everything that I can. Which I know is a privilege but it feels worth the money to me. Cleaner 2x a week (we do 0 laundry), babysitter to do pickup when I’m running behind on work, online delivery for groceries and uber eats groceries when I need something last min, ordering lunches when I WFH, accountant does taxes as in freelance. I try to be very present with my kids when I’m with them and I don’t want to be running around doing chores when it’s kids time. I also try to carve out a tiny bit of time daily to do life admin. And then I sometimes get a babysitter for a few hours on the weekend if I need to catchup on admin or work. But also, there’s no real secret. Most women with kids I reckon feel constantly behind and like they’re dropping some balls, because it’s impossible to do both perfectly.
