If the hours don't matter where you work, 4 days a week, it's a great idea! I would love to have that option where I work. I would be more motivated to finish everything by Thursday, just so Friday could be a free day. It could be optional, in case people still have things to get done, but I really like the idea.
Yea I'm sure i could squeeze in more work for the reward of an extra day at the weekend!
I have always wanted a four day work week. I honestly think it would help people feel like they had better work life balance. I would love to have a three day weekend every week.
I would love that too. Weekends go so quickly. Before you know it, it's Sunday night. I would feel a lot more ready for work. Another option is 5 working days and 3 weekend days. I'd be up for that.
I would be all for it if the workload could genuinely be managed in four days without cramming five days into them. On building sites though, I can see why deadlines and pay structures would make it harder to pull off.
The people who are concerned about it "hurting productivity" are the same ones who would remind a teacher they forgot to assign homework in school. A 4 day work week would do so much to improve my WLB. I'd be willing to do anything necessary during those 4 days to make sure we didn't fall behind, and I'm sure most of my colleagues would too.
Everyone would need to keep productivity the same in order to stop the company loosing money. The end of the day, that is all they care about.
Longer hours do not equal more productivity. I see employees who stretch out tasks to fit their time, and I can’t blame them. Measuring output instead of hours is what I would like to see more of.
Some of us only have so much concentration so we can only do as much as we can. On the other side some people are already really pulling their weight and couldn't possibly do what they do in just 4 days.

I personally think there’s pros and cons to it, as if you work longer hours for 4 days, the days could drag therefore your productivity might be lower. Or on the other hand this could really motivate you to up your workpace to get a 3 day weekend. Depends on the culture of your company and what works best for you I think - I think it’s great to have that flexibility if you wish.
