Has anyone ever been to the Alo Restaurant? I have never been there myself but I was wondering if this would be a good setting to propose?

I'm screaming! Okay, so to answer your question, yes it is a very very very beautiful place to propose at (from a girl's pov). I've seen pictures of how they doll up the space for events. Go for it. Congratulations in advance, OP!

Awww, congratulations on popping the big question! I've actually only been to the bar at Alo and their drinks are fantastic. It does have great food and a romantic, cool setting. Maybe take your partner to drinks there first to see how they like it...or just go for it ;)

Agree, congrats! It’s a fantastic restaurant. Can’t go wrong with the atmosphere. But it does depend if your SO wants to be proposed in public. See if you can feel this out first and then go for it!!!

How romantic!! I love Alo and think it would be an amazing place for a proposal. Like someone said above, just make sure your SO is down for a public proposal. I would love it, but I have some friends who would be completely mortified to be proposed to in public like that.

It's such a romantic beautiful place! I suggest clearing it with the restaurant first, and maybe they can help make it happen! Hope we get to hear an update after! La Banane is also gorgeous for proposals! Good luck!

Yes, it's a pretty good restaurant for such occasion. Oh I am so happy for you. I would suggest that you go there first and talk to them about the reservation and the unforgettable event that's about to happen.

I've been to an event there before, and I think it would really set such a romantic mood which would be perfect to propose in. I'm really happy for you! Please do update us once you pop the question!

Awww congratulations in advance. I love proposals. It's a perfect place for it. It has such a romantic ambience.

Awe that is soooooo sweet. I would definitely recommend it. Its a super nice and classy place. Great plae to propose!!!

Take her to dinner at alo and then propose at the Christmas market in distillery haha

From what I have heard great environment and amazing ambiance. As long as your SO is okay with public proposals, definitely. And also I am sure you can set it up and talk to someone a day or two before, ask for more private area to be seated or ask for help in execution of the proposal, if anything. Congratulations to you both! Have a wonderful time

My sister and I have recently both come to the realization that our parents guilt us into spending time with them or visiting them and the guilt causes us both to shut down. Our dad is the main offender, often reminding us how little time we have left with him, asking us why we’re leaving so soon or reminding us about all the good deeds and sacrifices made. We’ve both noticed this shift in our relationship with our parents after graduating from college and starting our own adult lives. Continued

Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!

Just a heads up- Jewish New Years starts tomorrow night, Yom Kippur is next week followed by sukkot. This period of time can be very stressful for Jewish colleagues who are trying to balance work, family and religion. Please be conscience of their schedule. Their schedule might inconvenience your team but they are sacrificing a lot too…

Hadn’t noticed this sub before, and most of the threads are old so thought I’d ask a follow up - how has everyone been handling parenting with public accounting? I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. Busy season was rough, things are looking better now as things return to normal. Still working crazy hours if you count the daycare duties on top of utilization targets.

Its all about increasing sales of a product that people could easily live without. As an Associate, I just move boxes around on PPT slides all day. Looking for better WLB and fulfillment in my work, thinking that might be Public Sector work.
