I'm assuming this has to do with the vandalism and looting last night. I'm also assuming you want more policing in the south side.
I want to know how extra police in the south side would have stopped a group of people getting to north Michigan Ave. What could Lori realistically have done to make you happy?
Agreed, not our job. Let's let the elected officials work through it then

I lived there and it was a miraculous improvement in quality of life and safety due to the policing.

Correlation =/= causation

Very weak commentary in the briefing this morning by local police and mayor. Does not sound like anything will be under control any time soon.

AC1 brought up a good plan however there are city officials in place to fix these issues. The public can assist but it’s not our duty to resolve everything. Have they really been resolving any underlying issues? The problem is there is so much politics when it comes to solving community issues. For example, i could only imagine what it could do if they would put more resources/community outreach in places like Englewood. We need to put more effort into developing Poor communities. But I’m assuming by not doing this it benefits someone’s pockets
What specifically are you unhappy with?

The impotent response to the crime. Take the offered federal help and then ask for more since at this point we need a cop pretty much at every damn corner
Pro
Yes, we need to adopt similar practices to those adopted in NYC in the 90's to turn things around.

If you are talking about Broken Window Policing, it might make you "feel better" because they are "getting tough" but there is no evidence that it's actually effective as a panacea for reducing crime
