Not normal and saying no would be dodging a bullet so just do it.
“I’m not comfortable sharing this info as it’s against our policy”
In certain companies it is a requirement and not sharing means that an offer process wont start. However for a headhunter it is not normal and you would lose leverage in any sort of negotiation at the end of a recruitment process. Many headhunters out there so I would comfortably say no
It’s not normal for a headhunter and I don’t believe it is normal for any company either, at least any serious one. I know they do it in NEOM, but it’s clear what they tell you: we pay you 30% extra to your previous salary, to confirm what you were paid show us a previous salary. And that’s only in order to prepare the offer letter.
In any other case, where the use of your salary certificate is unclear, they’re either fishing for numbers to get in their database or trying to lower to the minimum any offer they might want to extend you.
In any case do not disclose. You can always discuss salary later on.
Not normal for head hunter. Normal for hiring at some companies but that’s usually after they make an offer.
