I've noticed an interesting phenomenon: many companies are adding AI features, but few products are truly changing user behavior. Adding AI features and creating user value may be two different things. What's the most valuable AI product you've used recently? Why?

the feature-vs-value gap is real. most AI features are just a chat box bolted onto an existing screen. the ones that actually change behaviour remove a decision, they dont add a button. most valuable for me recently is perplexity, not because the model is better but because it changed how i start research, i stopped opening 10 tabs. thats a behaviour change, not a feature.

Claude for Work has changed my life. I produce work products faster, get data trends and insights in minutes and am currently inspired to do more because I feel like I have superpowers that many others haven’t been privy to yet.

Perplexity and Claude are very upstream of the AI value chain. What that says is that the tools themselves are valuable but very few companies have figured out how to reinvent their processes with AI.

I don’t have an example, but like that you raised this question. The most prominent applications allow for meeting the status quo faster; not how we raise the bar of performance or improve behavior.

It's hard not to view AI features as forcibly pushed slop, especially given how unhelpful they can be when actually asking them for a help with a specific specialist task.

I’m curious to know if anyone has experience working part-time in architecture? I have been working for large international firms in NYC for the past 10 years. So I work all day every day. My evenings and often the weekends are all absorbed by work duties. Working part-time would allow me to find a better balance, and carve out space for side gigs and eventually start my own firm. Any recommendations?
