Were you hired together or got paired up after both were already at the agency? If hired together I think it’s worth a discussion, if the latter then the male thing may not be the reason - it could just be how they negotiated when they came to the agency etc.
If y’all got hired together though that’s fucked. But sadly, advertising is still such a boys club. And the best way to combat it is to have a discussion with your manager and don’t make it a comparison to him and more about the value you add - bring your receipts and examples of how you deserve x-amount more.
Most people negotiate male or female. Others accept the first offer male or female. Unless you were apart of the conversation. You have no context. If you found out you made more than another woman. You probably won’t bring it up.
