I’ve been struggling with depression for about a year, it’s made me put on weight, sleep throughout the day and honestly I don’t have the motivation to do ANYTHING. I tried to tell my fiancée about my depression last month but he shrugged it off. Today he said he doesn’t like the way I look and how I don’t care about myself or anything anymore. He said other things too. I don’t know why but I now resent him for saying out loud all the things I know to be true about me.

Venting a bit: Are you finding DEI groups at work overrun with allies. Is there also an increase in celebrating said allies? Is it just me?

Most of the groups I'm in (esp. event teams) are being taken over by allies wanting to do what they think should be done to 'celebrate' whatever topic the month is, usually speaking over marginalized coworkers and rarely consulting with them. It seems like the only time this doesn't happen is for gay (usually yt) men or BHM. I'm just feeling so...minimized.

Recently I had two rounds of interview with KPMG for a content lead role.

The HR, on call, confirmed that I'd cleared the second round and would schedule an on-shore round when the team was available.

Couple of days later, the HR informs me that the position in on hold and they'll call me if something else comes up.

This felt so wrong. Can't figure out if they hired someone prior and were just messing with me? Can I do something here?

One of my favorite things about working from an office is that my team has a strong emphasis on collaboration and communication—we have daily stand-ups and weekly meetings where everyone on the team gets together to talk about what everyone's working on. That's definitely made it easier to stay motivated throughout the week.
