EY has been ranked tier 1 - the likes of ERM also

EY’s sustainability offering sits across multiple teams - including CCaSS and Parthenon where I am at. Doing a lot of ESG Strategy work with funds and corporates

McKinsey and BCG are doing quite a lot of work on these topics

Happy to share experiences from ERM. We’re the largest pure play sustainability consultancy which means very often we have deeper knowledge of subjects like TCFD & EU taxonomy. We now have 250 energy transition specialists as part of the group through recent acquisitions of RCG, Element Energy and E4Tech.

Deloitte and PwC both do climate change and sustainability work too

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)

Enrolled in Stern for a few weeks.
The number of the alumni and current students that go to top consulting firms FT& summer intern are countless even for a small class size.
Stern is way more than a finance school. Given its location, do you want to spend your 2 years in a rural area or heart of Manhattan? Location is almost everything for business school. (I have a friend in Cornell that frequently travels about 5 hours to NYC for events.)

Hi Fishers,

Can anyone please refer me for boutique management consulting firms as I have less than 1 year of experience and I think it's hard for me to get into top consulting firms. I am looking for a job as I want to switch to management consulting.

I would also like to know what upskilling should I do to be a better fit for management consulting. I currently work as a Market research analyst.

Any help from the community will be really helpful. Thanks in Advance!

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.
