Listen, you learned a great lesson. Expensive, I’m sure, but it’ll stick with you the rest of your life.
Stick to the fundamentals. That’s really all we have. The market can be irrational longer than you can be rational. There’s thousands of factors that might influence a trade at any given time. Stick to the fundamentals and don’t deviate from it. If you have a lot of excess dry powder and you don’t mind losing it, then go for it.
If the contact has a signicantly higher socio-economic status I might consider their advice. Otherwise what proof do I have that their advice is any good?
I am open the outside tips, and received a quantum computing tip in Q4 2024 and that’s worked out very well.
Stick strictly to your strategy, the market repeats itself
My Uber driver has great tips. Lyft? Not so much.
I don't mind getting tips, but I treat the same as anything else that I might have landed upon by coincidence. Sometimes I'll happen to see a news item, or somehow hear of something, and I'll do some research on it. Same with tips, it's the starting point for some research. If someone says it's a tip I have to act on immediately, that I would disregard in almost all cases.
