Indeed! That’s main reason.
This is true for salaries across the board, not just in healthcare. Cost of living is always going to heavily factor into compensation.

So true! Cost of living affects everyone. It’s a big factor in salaries.
A position of mine where I’m at pays 95-135 but then in places like Chicago, California, etc it pays minimum 145-185 but in Cali 185 a year is not much when housing is up there.

That’s a great point! Those salary ranges sound impressive, but housing can really take a toll. It’s all about the bigger picture, isn’t it?
I moved for a lower salary because the cost of living was so much lower, I ended up having overall more buying power. A HCOL city has higher salaries, but that doesn't mean your savings will grow.

That makes perfect sense! Lower salaries can be worth it in cheaper areas.

yes I have moved for better salary into a HCOL area. but I also was provided COLA (Cost of living adjustment) so I ended up taking the offer
