Hi all, just found out I’m expecting a little one but I’m nervous about staying in public as I don’t think it’ll be beneficial once the kiddo is born with the late nights of busy season and stresses of the job. Is it worth it to look in industry? If so, would they get angry that I’ll basically go in maternity leave in 9 months? Also, if public is better- why? I just don’t see benefits of being in public anymore. Also, I’ve been a senior auditor for 1 busy season if that helps. Helpppp.
Has anyone had to defend themselves at their firm when coming back from maternity leave? My firm decided to hire an associate (male married with no kids) instead of a per diem to cover my cases.
Random question: Getting my MBA and just accepted a BCG internship offer this summer. (Super stoked!!!). Do interns get health insurance? There are a few things I want to get taken care of this year, but would prefer to wait until I have great insurance and won’t have to pay as much.
How much does commercial S&O at Deloitte get for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Also is it allowance or per diem?
Why is my ass drinking a $5 Starbucks drink and eating a $15 salad for lunch when I no longer get per diem. Need to reevaluate my life
Can I get some feedback on working for Klick in the media buying side? Or just pharma/healthcare in general? I’ve seen a lot of reviews but mostly from creative side.
Question for directors and partners: What are the benefits of becoming a partner other than $$? Do you think a person should love or like their job enough to become a partner? Or being good at is sufficient to drive growth?
I don’t love what I do, but I’m good at it. I’m up for promotion, the leadership likes me and hint me that I can become a partner in a few years. Other than the financial benefit of it, I don’t know if there is anything else excites me. I find it difficult and + CONT BELOW
Can we all form a union already? Get paid overtime. Get good health benefits. Get sweet satin jackets. Get iron eagle Local 151 hard hat stickers for our Macs. And get paid for pitches - cause no agency else has the guts to stop giving away hundreds of thousand of dollars of free work. Imagine four plumbers coming to your business, doing the whole job for free. Each of them. One by one. And not paying them. Your business would be burnt to the ground and you’d end up in a ditch.
My wife got a new job, but she’s covered under my plan. shes thinking of joining the new employers health insurance plan 1. If she joins the new plan, do I have to take her out of my Deloitte plan from a legal perspective? If so, in how many days?
2. If I leave and join her plan, is that even possible in middle of year? What will happen to my FSA balance if I do that
I was talking with a PM for one of our clients, really nice guy. He used to be one of the big heads with Bear Sterns and he talked about the troubles in 2008. His 401k was wiped and he lost his job. Since then he managed to stay afloat but not to the levels he was before. He said that most young guys who are now Senior Managers and Directors have No Clue what is going to happen if we go to another recession, he doubts they even have been through one. What are yours thoughts? 14years of growth
I'm considering making the move from Industry into Consulting. I have 10 YOE, healthcare (payor).
For anyone that has moved from industry to consulting- Any words of advice/recommendations on the transition? Would you do it again?
I see a lot of posts about exiting consulting for Industry, but not too many in reverse.
i’m an idiot who switched jobs this year and wasn’t paying attention to my 401k contributions so now i’m maxed (combined from my old and new job) with 3 mo left. aside from other investments, cont
About health insurance: switching to a different plan next year that only allows for FSA account. My current plan gives me an HSA account. Can I keep my HSA for next year but also have an FSA?
I have recently joined PwC SDC as an Associate 2. Wanted to know that is there any smartphone reimbursement or mobile phone program here.
I’ve laid off people I haven’t even hired. Two of my interns were literally born yesterday. Theres already a line item in your current paycheck for our 401K, since you’ll work here in 7 short years.
How much (%) do you contribute to your 401k (including both pre and post tax)? Researching is very difficult bc consultants don’t even remotely resemble the average American financially, so just curious how I stack up against peers.
I have a referral from Huron for a Healthcare Tech Sr Consultant position, and they just reached out for a phone interview. Can anyone advise on what that referral interview process looks like, i.e. number of interviews/rounds, tips on any case studies, etc. Additionally, what a reasonable salary comp is for a Sr. Consultant? Thank you!
Hey everyone! What are the pros and cons of working as a contractor for Deloitte? (In addition to the obvious company benefits etc). Is this a good way to start to make my way into the company in the future? Thanks!
I am trying to get into big 4 healthcare transformation strategic consulting coming from a large EHR vendor as a strategic consultant. Looking for advice, guidance, and networking connections.
What do you do about family members that expect you to pay for every damn thing? I am the oldest and have always paid for my siblings when they were in school, even though I was in debt. Now they’re grown and making decent income low $100k, but they know I’m making more and act like they’re entitled to me paying for things. Thought I would get a break once they graduated from grad school, but the whole family calls me “rich” and treats me like I should bankroll everyone.
Meeting attendees are not always clearly thought out. Specially the important meetings! Phew .. thoughts? Is it just me or a coz of longgg day at work ??
I’ve voiced to a few leaders at my firm that I’m unhappy with how things have been for the past 18 months as far as pay, staffing and my current work load. All they say is we’re working on it and trying to send work overseas. Every one has given me a sales pitch on how I’m going to move up quickly if I keep it up and based on the turnover in my group there’s a ton of opportunity to make partner. It sounds good, but nothing ever changes. Do I buy in or leave and get my life/happiness back?
I am someone who really needs help. I am looking to get into the IT industry for a year now. I am from mechanical engineering domain and looking to transition. I have a coworker in my group at the same level that constantly what's to compare our performance (reviews, utilization, projects). To me it seems like underlying jealousy or insecurity. Personally, my philosophy is I do my best and let the chips fall where they fall. Not really worried about comparing myself to others. How do I manage this?

Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.
Hey All. I had my 2nd round interviews for a Lead Solution Engineer role at Salesforce on Monday (2 days ago). It was w/ 2 separate SEs, and I thought both interviews went very well. Have yet to hear from the recruiter, though, which seems odd. Especially given how responsive the recruiter's been prior to this.
Is that normal? Do I just need to be patient or should I mentally prepare for a rejection? Thanks!
I think I experienced racism, sexism or ageism at Google or may be not. I was introduced to this guy in leadership 2 months ago and it was really hard for me to get time with him or responses from him
