Stay home. Use Zoom. Wait for your job to be outsourced to Philippines. Convince yourself this is never going to happen b/c of how unique and irreplaceable you are in your professional capacity.

Oh yeah, interpersonal skills and relationships built in 3D (IRL) are so 2019!..
I’m going to quit if we don’t go back to the office...
Rising Star
Same. If I have to do one more team building activity over Zoom I’m gonna bash in my own skull.

I hate the idea of going back too, and most of my jobs were remote long before the pandemic. It is true that fully remote jobs are easier to outsource, but being in the same time zone helps. I’m hoping for a hybrid - only come to the office when necessary. And open floor plans should die.
I’m the only one of my immediate contacts/friends/family that isn’t required to be in an office setting at least part of the week, and most people I know have been back for months. I appreciate the companies that are taking this slow, but man I’d be happy to get back to some sort of “normal” and if that means driving to the office a couple times a week, so be it.

Move quickly to find a bonafide remote work option. I am pretty sure most jobs are coming back to the office.
Rising Star
I agree. They are.

I am curious. For those who have no interest in returning to the office/client site, are you a doer or a builder? Are you responsible for creating projects or do are you a resource being assigned work?

Haha I’m actually a lawyer, so I’m not too worried. We have a much more entrenched racket going on than you all.
