Make sure you have easy freeway access and limit the number of freeways you need to take to get to the office. That’s my basic rule for living locations in LA. Also, during peak of rush hour, assume 6 miles = an hour of driving.
West LA and Santa Monica are good choices. I live in West LA and work downtown and my commute is about 25 minutes.
Np, good luck with your move!
I live in a fantastic building in LA (resort style, incredible views and also very affordable) and can literally walk to work in 10 minutes. I highly discourage living anywhere outside downtown if you work in person as commuting here is absolutely brutal! Feel free to DM if you’d like more information
I lived in Culver City/Palms when I needed to commute downtown. It’s a good commute (though there are certain times of day when waiting 15 minutes to start driving will make your commute shorter). I wouldn’t live much further west than that. When we moved west past the 405, that commute got a lot longer.
Edit: I see this post was made over a year ago, don’t know why it showed up on my feed now.
