By some magic of biology young children typically sleep through the crying of infants. You can put them in the room together if needed. Ask your pediatrician about it.
Can you fit a pack and play in your room or the living room for the baby to sleep in?
We have 4 kids. Only had a crib for the 1st one. After that, they were all transitioned into a play pen and then into a little character bed. We didn’t have a lot of room either so the play pen was our best option. At first it was bc we didn’t have a lot of room. Then we moved and had more room but we still found it to be more convenient - for the price and space it took up. We cut a piece of a tempur pedic mattress, added a good amount of comfortable blankets, and we were set! I would advise to try out the play pen into the toddlers room and if you know about what time they wake up, have a bottle ready and keep doors open so you can grab quickly to feed. You can maybe try that and or sleep train for the week and break baby into new routine of sleeping through the night. It takes about maybe 4 days for a baby to start to learn new schedule/routine. You’ll want to pull your hair out at first but they’ll adjust. Whatever you’re more comfortable with and what you feel works best for you both. Best of luck!
Can you do a mini crib in your room for the time being? We did that with our second
The 3yo won’t wake up it’s fine. My baby is in their own room but the 3yo is often in my bed and doesn’t stir at all for the monitor.
