My manager thinks I don't show enough "urgency" because I'm laid-back and leave at 5 PM. But the thing is, I get to work by 7 AM and work through lunch, so I'm putting in the hours and getting my work done. Here's my question: Does management usually value staying late over working extra hours earlier in the day, even if the total time is the same or more? I don't get it, must be a perception thing.
