I’ve seen some nanny match companies offer ‘free’ nanny replacements if you or the nanny decide to part ways within 2 months, but generally no, there isn’t much of a guarantee. Personally I’ve had great luck with finding career nannies via local Facebook groups (large city on the west coast) and talking to references.
We found ours through a nanny referrals Facebook group for local families. You may check local FB groups.
Looking for a job
I used a nanny agency when our twins were young, (4 months old), and they sent solid candidates and did the initial screenings, background checks, etc. However, that came at a high cost, (I think it was ~1K + 10% of annual salary). The second time around when our twins were older, (3), I did the effort myself through Care.com. It took about 15 candidates but found an absolute rockstar, (and about 3 others could have worked). The facebook nanny pages weren't helpful for me, found it was more ad-hoc babysitters and not seasoned nannies
