Helo everyone, I had an interview scheduled with Cognizant on last week of Jan 2022 but due to technical error in Verification code I couldn't join interview lobby. I reported the same to the HR and I was told the interview will be rescheduled. Now there's no update from the HR. Could you please guide me how can I proceed or any email address to which I can inform to take the rescheduling process further.

The market is very bad right now. Been out of work for longer than I had anticipated and people are very surprised as well given my credentials. It’s also not that easy to pivot in this market and even when I do get interviews, employers end up choosing employees with more relevant experience. I have found it’s better to focus on my area of law even if it means fewer openings, but at least for roles more aligned with my experience I make it farther in the process. It’s definitely hard to understand without going through it yourself.
I used to judge as well, until I went from finding jobs easily within a couple of weeks to unemployed for close to a year so I am sure it is not just because he is lazy and not trying hard enough… There is a lot we don’t control in the job search in this market and trying harder does not always mean better results…
I think we need to know more about the hiring market in his industry, what efforts he's making to apply for jobs, whether you'd be open to relocating for his job (assuming he could get a job elsewhere), and how long he's been out of work for.
6 months is a long time and I can see why that would wear on you. I'd be curious if going back to school or getting additional certifications would meaningfully change his employment prospects in tech given the AI challenges you mentioned and the challenging tech market right now. Has he given a reason for why he isn't interested in other industries?
I think your feelings are valid. Being unemployed for a long time is full of uncertainty and is very stressful, even if you aren't personally the one who is unemployed. I'm glad to hear he's now looking for roles in other fields! I think that's a positive development. I can see why you would think "well you could have just done that 6 months ago and you'd be further along," but I think there's value to him giving it his all to find something in his field first. Now he can rest a little easier knowing he really tried.
You're not wrong for feeling resentful. It sounds like this has been hard on you. Wait and see how the job search goes now that he's casting a wider net. This may soon be behind you!
Out of work for 6 months, works in tech doing project management so skills are transferable to other industries, but also AI is a real threat to his junior level. Applies to openings daily but hasn’t deeply considered getting certifications or going back to school. Relocating with commutable distance from my work is an option
