One subtle thing I’ve noticed about good workplaces: people can change their mind without being punished for it. Have you ever worked somewhere where learning in real time was actually allowed?

I wish, hadn’t seen that much. How do you learn from mistakes and grow without looking like a failure? Most companies would rather see you double down and not admit defeat, which is crazy when you think about it, but that is what’s rewarded.

That's a good point about being able to change things without it being a huge controversy. I've tended to work in places where they constantly said "but that's the way we've always done it." That's always the worst thing you can hear, it often means failed ideas will persist no matter what.

I feel lucky that where I work now is like this, if we make a mistake it’s more of a learning point! I did come from somewhere where we felt restricted so it’s a complete opposite to that
