Off topic: I am stuck in a service based company for last 4 years in a shitty project. The work I do can be done by a 12th grader. Now i want to move out by learning something new & changing my domain. But the thing is I am not able to study because I am stuck in a comfort zone and learning new thing gives me bad anxiety. It feels like I will never learn & be forever stuck here. Pls help on how to come out of comfort zone, learn things and apply for the job. Tata Consultancy Infosys Wipro

In my roles it depends. You might be responsible to the customer from a single point of contact, but I’d be adding leads/managers internally to learn how this happened and how to resolve it.
Important thing in my eyes is being up front with the client and potentially reprioritizing features. Questions can be as simple as, “can we push a delivery for everything”, “can you pay more for additional dev resources,” or “can we trim requirements and hit delivery date with reprioritized items?”
Thanks SM1
Yes & No. Engg managers / QA leads are responsible for getting it done. As PM we would communicate those delays to Sales, manage customer expectations, align with PMM. Assuming this delay impacts the next sprint as well, we would also reprioritize future features accordingly.
The ultimate delivery of features rests with PM. The why, who and what of individual pieces is shared across different roles.
I support the eng manager in execution. To execute properly and not over-promise, you have to prioritize properly, manage stakeholders properly and clearly communicate expectations.
While, technically, execution and delivery is the Eng/Project Manager’s space, communication, prioritization, and expectation management is where we should be most comfortable as PMs and that’s where I help
Is there a program manager or project manager for your project to whom you can talk to?
There’s a project manager because we are delivering some features as a white label to a client. However, the project manager was surprised to hear we are behind. Idk - I would expect the Proj manager to be on top of this
