Project leadership is forcing me to stay staffed on a project that I’ve expressed interest in leaving after being on it for nearly 1.5 years. I feel so trapped that I’m interviewing externally because I’m so bored and they won’t give me a chance to find something new. Project leadership has a history of not letting Cs leave. Has anyone else been in this position and quit entirely because of it? I’m even up for promotion this year to SC but don’t think it’s worth sticking around 😔
Looking for some advice... I am up for promotion to senior consultant for end of year (most likely won’t find out results for a while). Do I have a shot at applying to a senior con level position at another firm before I *hopefully* get the promo?
Is it possible to jump to a senior consultant/associate role with 1.5 years of experience? Currently interviewing for it but lowkey worried theyll bait & switch me at the end
Uncle D hit me up, what’s a “Senior Analyst” at Deloitte’s Global Cybersecurity (Deloitte Global GTS) ? Is that a Consultant or a Senior Consultant position? Or is it based on my interview? How much should I ask for?
What shall I do: the senior consultant I am working with is extremely condescending and borderline rude in the way he communicates with me (granted he is very qualified, but still rude e.g. he laughed at my input in a KOL interview...during the interview). It has been ongoing for ~3 weeks now and is seriously affecting my motivation on this engagements and hence, the quality of my output. Any tips on how to handle/proceed with this?
Considering going into consulting in BAH for IR. Friend said best they can probably do is SC with no consulting experience unless they like me during the interview process. Any other consulting companies i should take a look into for IR? 2 YoE, 2 SANS certs and 1 more on the way. 100k TC west coast.
Anyone every switched firms right after getting a promo? I’m thinking about this as a potential strategy to jump two levels in a short time. For example, if I get the promo to senior consultant next year, what’s stopping me from applying to manager roles at other firms 2-3 months after this promo?
So I’m a second year consultant. Like most, I was disappointed with compensation this year and am pretty bearish on my future earning potential here. I’m currently interviewing with a big tech company (not FAANG but close) for a position with substantially higher pay as a business analyst. I really wanted to stay til SC/M but the money is too good to pass up. I guess my question is: are there any major downsides to exiting to industry “too early?” Has anyone done it and regretted it?
For those who interview what do y’all look for in your interviewees? I feel like when I ever interview for a technical role they’re looking for skills and experience first. But when I interview for a S&O/ functional role they’re looking for more fit, personality, and culture? Though i’m just at the SC level I’m probably wrong.
First year SC and interviewing for an M position at another firm. I’ve spent 20 hours prepping for the case interview so far. I feel like that alone means I’m not qualified for the role. (Cont.)
Have been interviewing for a SC position with two firms. My preference between the two is a Big 4, and I may or may not have another round to go (or may be pending an offer), but given the virus (ctd)
Would you be moving jobs in this environment (specific to Canada I guess). Im a SC that is up for M this year at a B4 but I've been interviewing with a boutique who has given me an offer...cont
Final round of interviews with Deloitte's Cloud Strategy group this Friday. Any tips on what to expect? Interviewing for SC position. TIA.
Any chance of skipping the whole interview process if you have a really good relationship(and not in that way, sickos) with the MD of that practice? Looking to boomerang back to D at C or SC level.
Is it common to have a follow up interview after the Super Day at Big 4. I had 5 people interview me on Super Day and now they want me to meet one of their Senior Mgr. SC position for TAS practice CTD
How long would it take to hear back from recruiter after having Interview Super Day on a Friday. Interviewed with one of the Big 4 for a SC position— TAS practice.

Google willing to interview me for L3 (entry level) but I’m a C up for promotion to SC (4.5 years exp), would it hold me back? Would future employers be able to see the level? Title would still be SWE
SC @ D and need to make moves, I am ~40% below the salary band (long story). I’ve been applying but keep getting shot down. Ego is a little bruised, don’t feel entitled to positions, but (continued)
Former Marine Veteran and an SC experienced hire. I have an interview at McK in a few weeks - is it worth “starting over” if I plan on going to B School (paid for). Thanks!
Need to prep for an interview this week. What would folks recommend? It is an SC role in a different firm. The interviewer might be SM or MD
Successful interview @ another big 4 but Partner’s concern is bringing me in at Manager level- currently SC- no word after a week. What’s up?
How much time does the big 4 in general take to make a hiring decision for a SC role after the final interview round?
I had a phone interview before holiday break and the recruiter was going to forward a thank you note for me to the employee I interviewed with. I got distracted and just found out I moved onto the
I’ve interviewed at several agencies over the years and I swear by one simple rule: if the hiring manager doesn’t send a thank-you-for-ditching-out-of-work-to-meet email, I don’t take the job. https://amp.businessinsider.com/how-to-write-thank-you-email-after-job-interview-2019-4
I'm looking at becoming more of an Art Director / Social Creative. The company I'm at doesn't value people enough to move them around internally or offer any training to help. Where do I start?! I'm applying for new jobs but I'm so out of the game when it comes to coming up with ideas for campaigns etc. I get to come up with design ideas but not big level ideas. Where do I find inspiration?
How long after an interview with a CD do you typically hear back? It went really great (i think) a lot of “well definitely get back to you”, responded to my thank you note, etc. What happens next? Reference checking?
I am interviewing for companies i am not interested in just for practice. At what point do I let them know i am not interested? After final round? After getting an offer?

Had an my 2nd round interview with AWS yesterday, and about 30 minutes in realized it was not the company for me. Sort of hoping they don’t call me back for the final rounds. Anyone else ever in this boat?
What happens to your profile after you get rejected for a job at fortune 500 sized firm? Is your profile blocked from applying for future positions? Tried googling but couldn't find an answer
Are you all painfully honest in your exit interviews, or do you not bother because they’ll never improve?
Applied to an internal position and in the process of interviewing. A recruiter from an outside company (one I’m very interested in) also reaches out wanting to talk about a position that seems a...
Has anyone been referred to amazon, got an interview directly with hiring manager and skipped that first HR interview? Does that mean anything?
How do you estimate what is a competitive salary for you (both staying within consulting and leaving)?
Has anyone transitioned from an HR Ops role to a Consulting Analyst role? Any pointers? I have been an HR Manager/Director for the past 6 years and am getting a bit burnt out on “people ops” component but feel have lots of experience to call on.
Just a confession that I need help with my self sponsoring O1 visa. Any senior creatives are willing to have a chat please. Trying to get my career back on track. Thanks in advance.
I am new to investment but been following advice here and maxing out my 401K. I have now come to a point where I am looking to change my underlying 401K options. What do you all recommend?
Please help me here. My partner (female) speaks in a baby voice when presenting via zoom, it’s nothing like her normal speaking voice. It sounds like she’s laying down in bed. The tone stays the exact same the entire time and it’s hard to focus on what she’s saying. Is there anything I (a male) can say?
Considering starting an RIA. Planning to stay affiliated with b/d. I've been in that business model more years than not, but as a solicitor for RIA. I want to own and run the show. Continued...
If all the top consulting firms made anonymous decks or gave anonymous pitches to a client, eg no branding and the client did not know which firm made which deck, do you actually think that the client would prefer MBB? Is MBB actually coming up with better/more innovative solutions? I feel like I see many repeat or slightly altered solutions on almost all of my cases, are these really things that people at Deloitte/Accenture etc aren’t coming up with?
Has anyone travelled to India for visa stamping with an H1B amendment pending? Any information will be helpful. Thanks!
Has anyone gotten the real id with h1b status? I’m on h1b but haven’t gone back to my home country to get the visa stamp. Would form I-797A suffice? Thank you!
New to this app and currently delayed on my flight to Austin. How does this app work. Am I talking to people in my home office area (Houston) or across the country?
Is it worth going into 200k in debt and losing out on 2 years of 90k salary to go to Tuck/Yale/Columbia for a shot at MBB?
How's internal audit gig at an industy? I'm feeling burned out being at a busy client all year round. I wouldn't mind having a not so interesting job if the hours and pay is good.
