Question for those who have police officers in their family / close friends: what is motivating them to show up and protect the street during this time? Is it they are worried about their job if they don’t or they feel they have a civic duty. The amount of hate that is being given to ALL cops as one entity and the violence just seems like I would not show up if I was cop.

My supervisor doesn’t delegate any work. I’m also in fear of talking to her because she’s always busy in meetings (which I should be part of but left out). A few times when I did try to talk to her, she either cut me off or use other excuses, never really listens and giving no respect. I just landed this job in tech and some coworker already went to HR to complain about my tone at a virtual meeting. I’m interviewing for jobs and I received an offer from company A, but I’d prefer company B. I told company B that I’d received an offer, and asked when they’d be making their decision/if we could speed up the process. I put company A off for as long as I could but I went ahead and accepted, just in case. Does it help me at all to go back to B and tell them I turned down A’s offer? Like, will it make me look super committed or does them thinking I have an active competing offer help me more?
