i recently got promoted to Claims Supervisor position in my company and i was really excited to see how i can handle the responsibility but, while i got the postion and salary i am still doing the job of a claims officer. i tried to talk to my manager about this but he implied that there is no need for supervisor position and i have to wait until my seniors got promoted, should i ask for transfer to another branch?

I was hired by a company that is paying me a ridiculous amount of money to do my job, but they lied to me, they lied to all of the new hires. This isn’t underwriting, this is a call center. We aren’t even allowed to answer coverage questions when the agents call. The call volume is INSANE - like 70+ calls a day. There’s no actual underwriting happening, and I don’t know what to do. The money is great, but the job is a joke. I’ve been here for 2 months and I want out. Advice?

Anyone else HATE the word “full stack developer” in a lot of tech/LinkedI blog posts? the ONLy time I personally feel it is applicable is when it is being used to describe a developer in a specified domain— or more appropriately— for a specific company.

Ie: Amazon is ran by Java, SQL, and AWS for the most part right? so a full stack developer at Amazon would be competent in those “tech stacks”. However— when I see the word “full stack developer” used as a job title to describe broad categories

I am fairly new to sales (3 years), and I just closed a deal that will pay out twice what I made all of last year ($75k vs $150k). My question is: nobody here can talk to their friends or family about this kind of stuff, right? Do you all disclose to people that you are pulling in $250-$300k in a year? Supervisor said I couldn’t have week off for vacation this summer bc another coworker of higher seniority asked off the same week and two people can’t go on vacation at the same time because of staffing. But this coworker that asked off works different shift than me? He works 1st shift I work second. We have a total of 8 workers and no more than 4 work a day. can easily be covered. This has never been a problem until this year (we got a new supervisor). we’re used to being short staffed anyway

So I’m currently entering the 4th and final round of an interview process for a sales role.. The final round entails a sales pitch presentation where I present either a topic or product that I can confidently convey a persuasive message about.

The actual topic isn’t what’s important as it’s more about then actual skills show cased.. I’m currently struggling to decide on an easy topic that would suit well - between the topic and then any other words of advise I can use some tips for this !!

Best tips for someone who has object permanence issues? If I put something down or away the chances I forget it and never come back to it are at least 50/50. How do you keep your home/office space clutter free without putting things where they'll never be found again? Or I guess how do you remember to go back to them? Help

Hey all, not to be that person, but I very much struggled and still have my bouts with depression. Going gluten free (strict for months to see improvement) helped me an insane amount with getting rid of my depression and lifting the fog. I still have anxiety but cutting out coffee has helped. Just passing along my experience in case it might help someone.
