It’s challenging and imperfect. I’ve learned to be creative. Your baby is priority. If you can access help while working from home, use it. Make sure you ask partner for help. As moms we sometimes forget to ask for help. Partners need to help too.
And, take it one day at a time. And all will be ok.
I hate that we have a society that makes moms feel guilty about taking care of sick kids. I’m not going to apologize for parenting my child. It’s not our fault that our system is not set up for child-rearing. You’re working two full-time jobs right now, you are allowed to give yourself some grace:
It’s tough, I’m recently back to work as well but I have had four. It’s an adjustment period, give yourself some grace. Your baby does take priority and good leaders will understand. Communication is key. Your little one will not be a baby forever, the time seems to pass quickly for better or worse.
Does PWC offer backup care options? It’s not great or even guaranteed. But if you are able to WFH on those days, it’s helpful to have someone else in the house to occupy your baby while you keep up with work.
