No, Booz Allen views themselves as consultants and not contractors (which is an entirely different conversation), so it’s one business unit.
Do they have overlap when it comes to IC contracts? How are the services split up?
Gotcha, thanks. I ask bc a buddy of mine works for Booz but is technically “contracted” to an IC agency, so he would be considered a consultant? I haven’t asked him yet bc he’s quite new and don’t think he has a structural understanding of the firm yet. I am considering applying, with the hope to do what most people would refer to as being a “contractor,” so I’m trying to figure out if there are different business lines that I should be looking into, considering consulting services vs contracting services. Thanks!
To build on that, there certainly are service lines within firms that are closer to traditional consulting services and other lines that are pure staff aug, e.g. systems operation and maintenance. You should talk to people within your organization about which you want to align to.
Types of projects vary widely from mbb level s&o work, to tech implementation, to butts in seats contracted jobs.
