GD sucks. I brought my lunch everyday even if I had a catered lunch meeting. It’s impossible to control carb intake at a catered lunch, so don’t even try. I kept those Fairlife protein shakes on stock at the office and at home for a quick snack. I also ate so many hard boiled eggs and cheese sticks. Use the plate method. Eat fats and proteins first and complex carbs last.
For the BS checks - I used an Apple Watch for the timer to remember when to check. I also felt no shame in having to check in front of people.
Thank you! I figured I’d have to opt out to our occasional free office lunches which sucks because now I have to spend more time and money prepping food. I’m glad those shakes worked for you I’m going to try those for snacks and see how it goes.
Lots of cheese. Peanut butter is pretty low in sugar and has protein if you like it. Sugar free pudding and jello were my jam. And whipped cream has very little sugar too. If you’re into baking, I made some pretty good almond flour brownies and cheesecake with Splenda too. For more savory stuff, cauliflower rice, and it turns out if you roast radishes they taste a lot like potatoes - I would toss them with onion soup mix and roast them.
Ooh I’ll definitely try sugar free jello and pudding those sound good 😂
Get a CGM so you can monitor blood glucose continuously. And make sure you get enough sleep. Sleep deprivation made me spike overnight.
