I’m interviewing at Google’s Treasury team. The role would be as a rates analyst managing their portfolio - primarily cash and short duration fixed income products (100bn aum). TC: ~150k, not sure of breakdown.
I currently work as a quant/middle office at a very well reputed mutual fund, but this is not a market facing role. TC: 125k, but they have a very generous profit sharing plan that contributes 25% of my pay to retirement accts if I stay for 6 years, so ~160k?
Can someone from bcg explain the profit sharing plan in lieu of a 401k match? How much do you actually get per year
I left my old firm a few months ago and I just received a contribution to my old 401k and I believe it’s coming from a profit sharing plan that I was in. Am I able to rollover the full amount to my current 401k? Vanguard says it’s 25% vested so I don’t think I can
Can you all shed light on management consulting firms that have a profit sharing plan included with your salary/bonuses? Would those be quarterly bonuses usually?
Is anyone here taking part in their firm’s profit sharing plan? Any advice on what makes the plan good or bad? Pros/cons? I max out my HSA and 401k already.
Hey everyone! Hope you all have a lovely week and are able to keep cool if you are in the heatwave like me!

How do you strategically answer the question “what is your expected pay range?” when the pay range listed is $20-$40/hr (salaried) and you want to negotiate towards $45/hr? I feel like I shocked my interviewers when I told them my expectations. I haven’t really experienced this feeling but I understand the shock since I’ve been on the other side. I feel like I should know the answer, but somehow it feels much different.
Do SCIs outside of the intelligence community require polygraphs? I have a TS, and have an offer from a firm that requires an SCI. I have no desire of going thru polys but am curious if offices in DOD, DOS, etc require you to get poly’d. Again I know it’s extremely variable but curious on folks experiences with SCIs outside of the intel community

Anyone also struggling with the "people management vicious cycle"?
I am currently at the 'highest' level possible for an individual contributor in my org. A next step would be taking on a People mgmt role.
The issue is: internally it's a slow process, because you will manage peers and often new people managers are coming from an other team or company.
Going to an other company is impossible as to become a people manager you need people mgmt experience.
How do you deal with this?
Anyone else feel they cannot be as assertive as non-Asian peers? Instead of assertive seen as aggressive or abrasive.

Given the current economic climate, what are some low to medium risk investments you are making now and plan to make in the next 6 to 10 months? (I’m sitting on a bunch of cash and looking for recommendations given the recession)
