Some job postings really feel like they were written by someone who’s never actually worked a shift. The expectations are endless, multitask, stay positive, handle pressure but there’s barely any detail about the schedule, the workload, or what a day actually looks like. And somehow “competitive pay” is always mentioned, but the number never is.

It makes you wonder if they’re trying to attract people or just seeing how much they can get away with asking for.

Summer intern at BCG. I've been told by a few people that you need to spend your first few cases "earning your stripes" to gain staffing optionality or be servile/loyal to a pyramid to gain access to the cooler case work within that PA. It's seemed particularly emphasized at times.
