Yes, it is basic and not a lot of variety compared to other cuisines.
Hard disagree
The ironic part about all these carribean destinations is that a lot of the food is probably imported from the US too
Yeah I was surprised by how bland and fried everything was.
Spanish food in PR is the way to go
For the most part, yeah. Some pretty bad food even in non touristy areas.
The good food we had was in Old San Juan and Vieques.
In OSJ, Tropical Taste was the best traditional PR food we had. Pio Pio was a good more modern restaurant.
On Vieques, Coqui Fire was awesome but just closed. I guess they retired. Duffy’s was solid too. Seems to be other good food options there.
Oh no! I loved Coqui Fire! Agree the food in Old San Juan and Vieques is good
Just like Costa Rica. Local food sucks. Best Indian food though, ironically.
Totally agree!! CR was rough but found an amazing Indian restaurant in San Jose
The food is good in PR. The problem is most restaurants serve the same thing, so it gets old fast to eat out
I’m Borinquen and agree with this sentiment
Had great food. Some interesting fusion places. But don’t remember the names
