The wildfires are raging in my area. I literally have land burning right now. Highways are closed in many spots locally and schools let out but couldn’t run buses. I’m stuck on the road for playoff basketball games so having to keep up from a distance. As you can imagine, it’s pretty stressful, and we will have consequences to deal with for awhile after this.

It’s land and not homes that are burning, but we sure could use prayers if you are a person of faith. Thanks in advance.

Update: I had some land burn, and the wind tore up my shingles, but nothing bad happened to me or my family. People around us had to temporarily evacuate. Most of the fires in the area are out.

We have to make it through a few more days of these conditions still. Thank you for the prayers and well wishes. This has been bad, but we feel blessed that it could be much worse, but hasn’t been so far.

Are wildfires a common occurrence in Oklahoma in February??

That all makes perfect sense. Extended periods of drought punctuated by short periods of abnormally high rainfall are entirely consistent with a warming climate.

I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. Is this just the general startup environment? If you experienced this before, how did you deal with It?

Been questioning my friendship with a group of girls. Really close to them before (been hanging out since high school), but all they do is gossip, shop, and talk about superficial things, and I just started realizing how our interests are different too in the recent years. When is it time to drop the friendship if you feel like the odd one out?
