It's a new low. Rescinding offers will put the final nail in the coffin to our campus reputation. Pair this with those who are planning to leave after bonuses, and I don't know what leadership is thinking
We are 36% below plan... why should we hire anyone right now? Really strong profiles, who are not happy, would leave at any point and negotiate the presumed bonus as part of their signing bonus. Think the company will be healthy again after people leaving in Q1 2024 and restarting hiring easy in the current market situation.
I would’ve expected them to wait to see how churn looks like in Jan/Feb post-bonuses. I am glad folks are getting out of this limbo stage (which can be dreadful in and of itself), but all of it still sucks. Weird feeling like good for those who will be joining (again) finally, but also feels like a third round of layoffs (even though I logically know it isn’t).
Seems like US has been quite busy too
I feel we are doing worse than I thought
I think they made all of these offers when they were still expecting business to come back strong. Then they lowered the revenue plan. Now I think we're performing well to that, but the recruiting offers likely didn't match up with the revised plan levels.
Surprised since the tone of the all-hands last week was very positive, but the number of new hires coming in at once would have been a lot for the business
