Is this bowl still active?
Have my closing interview with Accenture next week. So far the Director and MD I have met with have both liked me and the recruiter has said that they have both given me a thumbs up and that the upcoming closing interview with the MD is just a conversation. From my research I’ve also read that it’s just a sanity check to make sure I’m not a nutcase. Of course anything can happen, but I’m expecting an offer. (Cont)

I primarily bang my head on the table trying to get my brain to work like a functioning adult, but I have yet to be successful 😂
Prescription medication and being willing to work longer hours to make up for my inconsistent ability to focus.
OP: I am a mom to 2 girls ages 6 and 2. There are definitely not enough hours and I pay for help with those things I see as daily tasks (make the kids breakfast, lunch or check there’s water bottles in their bag or pick out uniforms etc). I have help with cleaning the house and laundry. My husband works long hours as a medic so I found getting the help is essential for survival. This frees up some time for me to be a mom and hopefully not drop big moment balls such as missing soccer practice or a recital etc.
It’s not enough for me to feel like I could be more productive with my time hence why I have wondered about medication. I do worry about the length of time it would take for me to find the right medication for me so for now, I’m unmedicated. Therapy and a career coach is the combination I have settled on for now.
I’m not going to lie & pretend I’ve got it figured out, but a few tools that have helped me (in addition to medication):
1. Brick: It’s like a physical version of “screen time” on iPhones. It blocks you from accessing a custom list of distracting apps until you tap your phone against the brick.
2. Body Doubling: I get more work done in the office for this reason. Even in my office, I keep on ‘virtual’ body doubling videos on YouTube.
3. Dictating: Unsure if this is ADHD or just a weird personal hangup, but I’ll get overwhelmed/stuck and end up writing & rewriting the same paragraph multiple times. When I get stuck, I’ll dictate into my Notes app & then email it to myself. (You can dictate directly into Word but it’s awful, in my experience.)
4. Pre-Planning & Planning Around Your Energy/Attention Levels: Easier said than done, but it helps me to pre-plan my tasks for the next day so I know what my game plan is when I get to my desk & can get started. I also try to save ‘easy’ .1s (like emailing clients to follow up on settlement agreements, etc.) for mid-afternoon when I notice my energy & attention tend to lag. It’s like taking a break without taking a break.
But realistically… I think it’s always going to be a struggle. I feel like I’m fighting tooth & nail and working longer hours than my peers just to hit the same billables.
I started following some pages on ig that help me better understand some of my behaviors.
Could you suggest the ig pages you find most useful ?
There’s a good bowl in here for adhd lawyers

Following ! as a diagnosed ADHD real estate associate starting an LD role in the new year, I need a community and some tips.
Perhaps it might help to share some of what we each find most challenging.
For me, I am a master procrastinator. Everything just moves better for me when I have just 2 mins left to do it lol.
I am also afflicted with the “shiny pennies syndrome” - a general inability to find satisfaction in completing a task. Starting a new project is always more exciting than finishing that deal that’s been going on for weeks.
*Sighs in helplessness*
I’m a mom (with young kids) with ADHD. I take Strattera. It helps with the exhaustion. I started after I had kids when I could never be “off” and would spend weekends just laying on the couch feeling so tired. I also shifted my day to start earlier. I wake up a couple of hours before my kids and do some work when no emails or calls are coming in. Also, keep your phone out of sight while you work.
I also get up before the kids! Even on weekends. Being woken up to my kids just starts my day off badly, no offense to them! I love them but I don’t like to be bombarded with noise and tasks the moment I open my eyes.

Would recommend eventually having your psych run a genesight test for best meds for genetic profile and it will also check your mfthr and comt results to see if a methylation issue could be part of the cause!
It’s called Genesight.
Adderall and to-do lists.
I’m also a mom (4 and 7 year olds) and take Vyvanse. It’s been a life saver. I also take continuous birth control for PMDD which helps lessen the brain fog during the luteal phase and also helps with ADHD symptoms in a way. With this combo, it’s the most content I’ve been in my whole life so far. I still struggle at certain times of the month but get by with just telling myself the following weeks will be smooth sailing. The afternoons are also tough when things get busy and overwhelming. I try to meditate and positive self talk, lol.
I use this book A LOT.
