I have a question for the sales managers out there. What motivated you to pursue a career change from front line sales to managing a team of sales professionals? I ask, because as I look to the future I am wondering if just staying on the front lines will be more lucrative then entering management.

How much should partners be expected to communicate with one another in terms of demands on associates’ time? Should associates be managing all the way up, or is it reasonable to expect some level of coordination at the top? My firm does not have a workflow coordinator so I am curious as to how other firms handle this issue. This has been a problem at my firm which has left to people leaving after being over-utilized.
