Reach financial independence and do something more meaningful and fulfilling that does not constantly threaten to interrupt personal and family plans.
As someone early in the FI journey, I can’t imagine reaching financial independence being <=5 years away. What are you thinking of doing afterwards that will be more rewarding?
Get through the upcoming recession with a job
FIRE in my 30s
Someone I know lives with someone who is following this.
He makes 250k+ annually in san francisco but rents a room in 4 bedroom student house essentially, doesnt go out much or if he does its beers at someone’s house, a hike, free galleries, etc.
Always packs a lunch to work and still makes dinner over take-out even when coming home real late from work
get engaged, pay off student loans, get my cpa, move out and help my parents downsize, travel a little more often to europe
Win the lottery, get a full body makeover, and travel.
Either senior manager / a year from promotion to SM, or an industry job making 130k+
Total package @300k
Partner/Principal/Managing Director
Pay off my student loans and get married
retire at 58 which is 5 yrs away
Def not be on this bus 🚌
Hopefully I’m out of B4 in the next two... then work on saving investing and finding the one
