Is it common to negotiate the severance package when receiving and offer letter? I.e 3 months of severance for more senior roles? (VP and up)
I have been in the industry for ~ 20 years, career slowed down when I went part time to raise a family and care for aging parents and when I moved to Milwaukee, I took a demotion. I was part of Covid layoffs and have been applying for an Account Director role. When I looked on LinkedIn, the company has a lot of young people at VP level. How do I negotiate for that after the fact? What does VP mean at your company?
Due to Covid & a new VP, everything is changing at my company & senior reps are being micromanaged like new hires. Seniors are quitting and being fired like nothing I’ve ever seen. Anyone else?
I think I may be getting laid off today: got a strange meeting invite for a call with my VP & HR. Any advice?

I took over a vp position (as a director) when they were fired from my agency. Now, moving teams and they have hired another vp to replace me. I’ve asked for promotion and received silence in return
What exactly does VP mean? Contractual obligation, reports to President? Can’t get fired? What are pros and cons if any of a position like VP Creative Director, etc.
Negotiating an offer and want a severance package included in the terms from the new employer. What’s a good number for a VP Strategy?
I was sexually harassed (assaulted, specifically) at a work event more than a decade ago. The VP who did this was fired (I did not report; someone else reported). This VP is still in the same...
How frequently do people actually get fired? In two years I've seen two associates and one VP get the boot from my BB coverage group. Typical?
Just learnt that one VP in my client (ibank) suddenly disappeared (laid off). Which is very scary as her work is good, what is the most scary laid off story you have heard?

In the midst of all these layoffs, I'd just like to point out that I've worked for FCB Health for 15 years (now at Area 23 for last 6 years) and in my time here, there has not been a single layoff.
Those of you who have been fired in the past, what was the reason and was it a blessing I disguise?
I’ve been laid off and, as I embark on my job search, I’d like to keep my marketing skills sharp. Any recommendations on must read books, or resources?
hey all, i’m 3 years into my career. some decent work produced, some awards (mostly student). after getting laid off last fall and many many applications and emails sent, I’ve decided to spend time and money on a creative PR stunt to get my dream agencies’ attention. I’ve decided I don’t want to settle any longer, and I’m ready to make the jump to the elite. so people that have made it to their dream agencies: when did it happen for you, what made it happen, and was it everything you hoped for?

What can be the expected CTC for consultant role @ Deloitte USI consulting ? YOE - 5 years Prior experience as - Business Analyst with expertise in Project/Change Management, Client servicing, SQL and SAS.
Currently a manager, reporting to VP. There’s a need to fill an open director position, who I would report to instead of directly to VP. I don’t meet the years of experience in the posting, but I have been doing the requirements of that posting in my D2D. I do plan on going to B-school PT starting next year. On one hand I can see how working under a director can be beneficial, where I can learn from their experience and have more time to focus more on my growth while in school. Shoot my shot?
I’m thinking about transferring to another tax group within the firm, but I am sure my current group would like to keep me as long as they can. Let’s say if I get an offer from another firm for the position that I desire, how should I bring this up to my RL/partner/group? Has anyone done this before?
What do you do when you are unassigned for a week. I love 45 min away from the office (without traffic)? Can I just work from home?
Looking for recommendations for a rear facing car seat that reclines well. Currently have a Nuna rava. My first was fine with it, but my 2nd (who is 1+) seems to get car sick and pukes on longer trips. She loves her nuna pipa infant seat though (basically lying down) and never gets sick in that. We're keeping her in the pipa for as long as possible, but I need to find a convertible option soon. Curious what other moms in similar situations picked.
Right before covid, we were going to buy a $500k property but since fiancé works at a startup, we wanted to mitigate risk and offered a rent to buy agreement with the seller. They agreed bc this was now height of covid but ultimately it fell through due to the seller getting an upfront offer. Due to the current situation, we’re still not 100% comfortable with buying as we’re just both generally risk averse and are exploring 2 options:

Looking to get a few certifications, I have worked in both IT and HR consulting and am trying to decide between ITIL, SHRM, and PMP. Any thoughts on which would be best for future, quickest to get, hardest test? I get the cert paid for and a bonus upon completion, so trying to decide which one to pursue or the order if I want multiple.
What would you say is a fair salary for a Sr Cons at mid tier firm in Charlotte. A bit broad, I know, but trying to gauge how I’m doing. Just got an offer and I’m not familiar with salaries here.
Pros and cons of bringing a +1 to the office holiday party? I'm young and new to the firm, and I have a vague sense that it seems unprofessional...what's the 🐠 take?
Hey Folks - Any one use their FSA $ towards a dietitian or nutritionist? If so, could you share your experiences? I'm considering Working Against Gravity but I don't think we can use our FSA. It also appears 'nutritionist' is unregulated and a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is needed for the expense of a nutritionist's services.
