What are some of the best questions you've heard a candidate ask during an interview? I typically get the generic ones like " what's your favorite part of working here" which is totally fine! Just wondering which ones have stood out to you as unique or impressive.

Oh weird, I've never got that question before actually. Seems very generic. I get some basic ones like, what are your goals for this role? But my favorite ones are a bit more creative, like, what would a successful day in this role look like?

that's a good one :)

When somebody took the time to research the company or role and ask a specific question about something they weren’t clear on. So not only did you take time to be prepared, but you're also able to ask questions for the answers? Green flags all around.

agree - very impressive

Research the company and the hiring manager and ask why is the position opened? Was this due to an internal promotion? Did someone leave the position? Get them to open up about the role. This will also give you red or green flags depending on the hiring managers answer.

good tip

I know this isn’t a marriage therapy bowl, but my husband has a really terrible tendency of saying things like “you’re being really mean” and completely shutting down during a disagreement when i objectively am not being mean, just truthful or vocal about how i feel about something. It’s a really convenient argument for him because it enables him to either be the victim and me the villian, or forces me to concede my stance and not reach a true resolution. Any tips on dealing with the irrational?

COMMENTS REQUESTED!

In the past, lawyer wellness and lawyer discipline/character fitness for bar applicants have existed in silos. I’d like to finally form a bridge between lawyer disciple and lawyer wellness and focus on prevention. When we think of lawyer discipline, we automatically think of outrageous behavior like stealing money. Those are extreme. The common cases are too stressed out and forgetting deadlines or death of a loved one and not having time to call clients back. Cont’d
